INTELECTUAL DISABILITY MUSIC THERAPHY WITH SAYURI SYIRAI 2016

COLLEGE OF THIRTEEN, Universiti Putra Malaysia in collaboration, Graduate Student Education Faculty UPM,  Kyutech Institute Of Technology and Potential Enhancement & Caring Education (PEACE) has organized a program of Intellectual Disability Music Therapy With Sayuri Syirai 2016 on 27 November 2016 which was held in the Hall Putra 1, Thirteenth College UPM. Programs that are relaxing this is the first time held to appreciate the talent Sayuri Shirai, a Japanese girl who suffers from Down Syndrome. The little girl who was 20 years old has a passion for the art of music and has successfully wowed the crowd by playing a musical instrument marimba.

The main goal of this program is to bring students to the disabled and provide continued encouragement to those in the industry of music. In addition, the program also aims to produce versatile graduates in various fields, especially in the artistic and cultural aspects.

His father, Prof. Dr. Yoshihito Shirai, Director of Kyushu University Institute of Technology of Super Satellites at UPM said he and his wife have been trying to develop the talents of Sayuri in the art of music to enrol her in a group performance for children disabled since childhood while he also began show interest and highlight the talent in the classroom

Themed "Music and Therapy", this program has provided special performances such as dancing horses braids and little west, accompanied by Sayuri Shirai and some students of the Thirteenth College itself. That night, he presented several songs with tunes her marimba

Sayuri Shirai has also made a special appearance in auditorium Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM with students Fushion Lab UPM and College Thirteen conjunction Intervention Program Therapeutic Community for Students with Special Needs Fushion Lab UPM 2016, organized by the Faculty of Education UPM in cooperation with the Thirteenth College,

It is expected that such a program could provide space and opportunities and can help develop self-potential disabled groups as the art of music is one of the key elements in helping to build the intellectual disabled people.
